Tim Blevins

Director of Boyle County Bands

Mr. Blevins received his MA for the University of Kentucky. His major instrument is the trombone. Mr. Blevins teaches 5th grade, middle school and high school concert bands; jazz band, marching band, and indoor drum line. He keeps himself busy with all the small ensembles and preparing his students for auditions.  

Mr. Blevins arranges the music and writes the drill for the marching band. He and his staff come up with a visual package to put with the musical selection for the year. This summer, Mr. Blevins began his 13th year of teaching at Boyle Co, with SEVEN trips to state finals and three consecutive KMEA Class A State Championship titles accredited to his name ('01, '021, '03).  
 

 

 

Alleenna Van Horn
Assistant Band Director
Trumpet Instructor

Mrs. Van Horn graduated from Campbellsville University in December 2004 with a desire to teach.  She is in her third season with the Boyle County Marching Band as Assistant Band Director and trumpet instructor.  
 

 

 

Lucas Sledge
Assistant Band Director
Low Brass Instructor

Mr. Sledge is the elementary music teacher at Perryville Elementary and Junction City Elementary and is the beginning 5th Grade Band Teacher at Perryville and Junction City elementary schools.

Mr. Sledge brings his expertise to the band as the Low Brass instructor, and his principle instrument is Tuba.  His knowledge in marching visuals is utilized daily during practice.

He is a graduate of Allen County - Scottsville High School and Western Kentukcy University with a BA in music education.  He is starting his fourth year at Boyle County - three of which he has worked with the Marching Rebel Band.  

Outside of marching band, Mr. Sledge is a huge baseball fan.  He has played since he was 8 years old through high school, with 4 years on the varsity team.  He started about 70 games while on the team.

Prior to coming to Boyle County, Mr. Sledge served for one year on the band camp staff at Mercer County High School and Allen Co-Scottsville for five years.

Will Stephenson
Percussion Instructor

Will is currently working on a Music Education Degree at Eastern Kentucky University in the area of percussion.

He marched in the Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from 2002-2005 in the snare line and was the drum captain from 2003-2005. 

This past summer, Will taught the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps. 

Other experience includes working with and writing  for the South Oldham High School and Meade County Indoor lines in 2003, Simon Kenton Marching Band in 2004, Boyle County Indoor 2006, and has helped with the East Eighty Independent Indoor line in 2006. 

Will has also written several things for the Capital Regiment Drumline in 2004-2005 and the Magic of Orlando Drumline in 2006.   He is a member of the Vic Firth Educational Team.
